PhD student Harish Vashisth Wins 2007 CoMSEF Graduate Student Award
Harish Vashisth, a PhD student under the direction of Professor Cameron Abrams, was one of the two recipients of the 2007 Computational Molecular Science and Engineering (CoMSEF) Graduate Student Award at the annual AIChE meeting. Harish was awarded in recognition of excellence in research by graduate students for his poster entitled
"Escape Pathways of Phenolic Ligands from the Insulin-Phenol Complex." His award included the receipt of a plaque, certificate, and $500.00. This was the second year that CoMSEF has made awards to recognize excellence in research by graduate students in the field of molecular science and engineering. The two awardees were selected based on a nomination letter and a poster presentation at the November AIChE meeting in Salt Lake City.
CoMSEF is a forum for the combined community of engineers and scientists who are developing and applying molecularly based theories, modeling, and simulation. Its scope of technical interests includes chemical, biological, and materials processes and products. A key feature is joining molecularly based modeling with the other computational methodologies that are used in the chemical engineering sciences for research, development, operations, and education.
