Professor Lau Receives PRF Grant
Professor Kenneth Lau was recently awarded an American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund Type G grant for Fundamental Research in the Petroleum Field. Type G starter grants have been especially designed to assist early-career faculty members to initiate programs of self-conducted research. This grant will provide a total amount of $50,000 for a two year period (9/1/2008 through 8/31/2010) that is intended to assist Professor Lau in establishing his research program.

The Petroleum Research Fund (PRF) is an endowed fund, managed by the American
Chemical Society, that supports fundamental research directly related to petroleum
or alternate energy at nonprofit institutions (generally colleges and universities)
in the United States and other countries.
