Multiscale Modeling and Process Systems Engineering

Several members of the department use theory and simulation to investigate the behavior of molecular-scale, continuum-level, and process-level complex systems. Specific areas of research include (i) continuum-level simulation of coupled mass transfer and flow in industrial and biomedical applications, (ii) process modeling and optimization, (iii) molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations of macromolecular systems, and (iv) statistical mechanical theories in biophysics.
