Yuriy Smolin Awarded George Hill, Jr. Endowed Fellowship



Yuriy Smolin, a 3rd year Ph.D. student in Prof. Soroush's and Prof. Lau's research group, was recently selected as a 2015 recipient of the George Hill, Jr. Fellowship. His research focuses on designing and optimizing polymer-electrolyte dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) using an integrated strategy of first-principles modeling, synthesis, and characterization.

The George Hill, Jr. Endowed Fellowship, established in 1991, is awarded to qualified Ph.D. candidates in the College of Engineering. Recipients have proven excellence in their undergraduate and graduate careers and be able to demonstrate their potential to achieve academic excellence at the Ph.D. level.
