Bio Track
What is the new bio track?
The bio track is a new curriculum option offered by the Department of Chemical and
Biological Engineering. The track comprises 23.5 credits of bio-intensive courses,
including 18.5 core credits and 5 elective credits.
A hallmark of the bio track is a signature Bioprocessing
Principles course, which distinguishes the bio track from any other curriculum.
Students completing the bio track will constitute a next generation of engineers
that speak the language of biology yet remain true to the process-intensive
nature of chemical engineering.
Why?
The bio track was implemented to satisfy two recently and
rapidly growing trends:
1) An increasing number of engineering students interested
in biological sciences
2) An increasing demand for students with training in the
processing of biological compounds by employers.
The bio track is designed to equip students with the
knowledge and skills necessary to compete in bio-related
fields, especially those involving processing.
Who is eligible?
Undergraduate students in the Department of Chemical and
Biological Engineering are eligible to apply to the bio track.
How do I sign up?
To learn more about the new biology track or to sign up,
contact Professor Wrenn, Associate Professor, at 215-895-6694,
or spw22@drexel.edu br>
or Professor Meyer, Assistant Deparment Head and
Undergraduate Advisor, at 215-895-1855 or
